2009 Material Girl Material World

How does Consumer Culture affect the emotional wellbeing of a young woman in American society? This photograph of a miniature installation provides a personal statement about how women are influenced by the materialistic, money-driven culture that has influenced American relationships for centuries.  It reveals a persistent and constantly evolving precedent that packages and markets a male-dominated image of feminity and beauty which oppresses the fragility of young minds within American society.
